A 26-year-old Safford man died late Friday night in what authorities believe was an alcohol-related accident.
According to a Graham County Sheriff's Office news release, authorities received a call shortly before midnight Friday about a Polaris vehicle accident on Klondyke Road one quarter mile south of the Purple C Ranch.
When first responders arrived they found people performing CPR on James M. Holguin, but he was later pronounced dead at the scene.
A passenger in the Polaris told law enforcement he and Holguin were traveling south on Klondyke Road when the Polaris left the dirt roadway and came to rest on its side, according to the release.
Holguin was pinned under the Polaris and the passenger and another party who were riding their Razor type vehicle just ahead of Holguin said they lifted the Polaris and started CPR, the release stated.
The passenger declined medical attention at the scene.
The Pima County Medical Examiner was notified, an autopsy is scheduled and the investigation continues.
