Freddie Lee Clarkston, better known as Fred, was a loving father, grandfather, and the best horseman. He was born on Jan. 19, 1949, in Hobbs, New Mexico, and passed away peacefully on Oct. 11, 2021, at 72 years old.

Fred was born to James and Johnnie Clarkston.

He worked as a crane operator for several years in several different places. His favorite place to be was with a horse on a racetrack. He loved all of his grandkids and a good game of cards. He lived a simple life, but was always so happy wherever he was.

He is survived by: wife, Pat Hurston; daughters, Penny Clarkston LeBlanc, Julie Clarkston, and Michelle Hurston; sons, Dairold Lambert, Larry Hall, Mike Hurston, and James Hurston; sisters, Shirley Loffler, Gail Hamilton, Kathy Clarkston, and Jeanie Clarkston; brother, Eddie Clarkston; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A viewing is scheduled for noon on Friday, Oct. 15, 2021, and the service will follow immediately afterward at 1 p.m. (post time of course) at the Vining Funeral Home in Safford, Arizona. The service will also be live-streamed and able to be viewed via their Facebook page.
