CHANDLER — Gila Valley players on the U10 Goal Smashers competed in the 2019 Ostrich Festival Championship and, after four wins in a row, came home champions.

The Goal Smashers won game one, 5-1, against RSL-AZ North 09; won game two, 6-1, against RSL-AZ South Excel; won game three, 3-1, over RSL-AZ South 1007; and came up big with a 6-4 win over AZ Arsenal 09 Black.

“RSL-AZ is Real Salt Lake Arizona. It’s a program that started club teams all over Arizona, including the RSL-AZ 19U team that was recently started in Gila Valley coached by Warren Williams and Dallon Shultz. Hopefully they can expand and get some younger teams started locally,” Jennifer Taylor said.

Goal Smashers are coached by Justin Mack and Anthon Ellsworth, and sponsored by Arizona Dodge and Mack’s Napa Auto.
